The second round of Mid-German regionals took place in Ettlingen last weekend.
This event should be on two days, but unfortunately there was heavy rain on Saturday, so no driver had a chance to complete even one lap in dry conditions. Next day, the luck was on our side, the air temperature increased and the sun came out.
Following one round of practice, qualifying started. All drivers suffered from low traction conditions but it became better and better with each run. The XRAY team worked together very well and the NT1 chassis was the strongest on the track, resulting in the top 4 positions after qualifying:

3. Holger Kraft - XRAY NT1'13
4. Dennis Sting - XRAY NT1'13
Referring to the high tyre wear, everyone was calculating if it is possible to run the 30min main final with one tyre set. Simon Balk decided to change tyres after 15min, the rest of the field trusted in a smooth way of driving to keep the wear down. After the start, Simon was able to pull away quickly and to achieve a big gap towards the rest of the field, which was necessary for his strategy. After a fast tyre change, Simon had a comfortable lead in front of Hartmut Rose and Dennis Sting, who was fighting with Michael Holla directly behind him. At the last corner of the race, a wheel nut came off and sadly Dennis lost his third position.
